Flawed Promises

30 Sept 2009: Historic judgment gives temporary reprieve to Brown Mountain

Key environment groups have released The Old Growth Flawed Promises report, an investigation of Labor's 2006 pre-election commitment to protect Victoria's last significant stands of old growth forest.

Part of Brown Mountain has already been logged including ancient trees such as this one, radiocarbon dated at 550 to 600 years old. Brown Mountain should be protected. Send a message to the Premier, the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, and your local MP demanding an end to old growth logging.

For more information visit the Brown Mountain old growth page at Environment East Gippsland.

Check out Greens MPs Greg Barber and Sue Pennicuik's speeches in parliament, media releases and Sue's YouTube.
