"Where's Gavin?"
Greens MLC Colleen Hartland has questioned the Victorian Environment
Minister's absence from today's Environment Protection and Heritage Council
meeting in Hobart today.
"Gavin Jennings should be here in Hobart talking to his fellow state and
federal environment ministers about a shared approach on recycling," said
Colleen Hartland.
"And where is he? In California talking to people he's never met before on
the same subject."
"You have to ask yourself why he planned an overseas trip right now, with
the Greens' container deposit legislation being debated in Victorian
Parliament, and today's meeting set to discuss a national approach to drink
container deposits."
"The Minister has always been against drink container deposits, against
plastic bag levies, and against big companies being forced to take
responsibility for the litter they create."
"It makes me wonder what's going to happen at this meeting, if he's gone to
the other end of the Earth to avoid it."
Send an email to key MPs to tell them you want the bill passed through Parliament and made law.
